Math can be SO fun!! Are you looking for a full year of math, without having to stress out? Are you looking for math instruction for your homeschooled learner or to further enrich your child's learning? My name is Mrs. Engle and I am a certified mathematics teacher. With over 20 years' experience, my goal is to meet your child where they are at and to help them gain confidence along with mastering skills needed. If at any time your child needs extra assistance on any of our skills, please know I offer free tutoring for your child to understand the topics and material. These sessions do fill up fast so make sure to let me know as soon as you can, please. I do not offer your typical report cards, tests, and quizzes. I use several ways to determine if your child understands what is being taught. Likewise, I ask that you, as the parent, make certain to remove all distractions before class begins. This will help the child with learning the skills optimally. If your child does struggle to understand a topic for the week, please make sure to first go back and re-watch the recording in the classroom. Please make sure that the child looks over all notes that may have been posted in the class for that week, and that they understand those key terms and vocabulary. If after watching the video and studying the notes, they are still struggling, please reach out to me. I’ll offer one to one tutoring for free, as well as a few other possible solutions. I do not want a child to suffer in silence throughout the year and hate math. ***Please note that I do not offer make-up schedules if your child misses a class; instead, I ask that they watch the video recording. If your child then does not understand the class recording, please reach out. Otherwise, the playback video is what you will need to watch if you are out of class for the day or week. :) Lessons by the MONTH are: AUGUST/SEPT 2025 Aug 29: Model Place Value Relationships & Round numbers up to one million Sep 5: Add & Subtract Whole Numbers (up to one million) input/output tables Sep 12: Word problems Sep 19: Multiplication table 1-12 Sep 26: Multiplication table 12-16 OCTOBER: Oct 3: Multiplication table 16-20 compare numbers using multiplication Oct 10: Multiply Using Expanded Form and Partial Products Oct 17: Multiply Using Mental Math and Word problems Oct 24: Divide Tens, Hundreds, & Thousands, multiply numbers ending in 0's Oct 31: Multi-step Division Problems NOVEMBER: Nov 7: Word problems Nov 14: Factors and Divisibility Nov 21: Factors and Multiples Nov 28: Prime and Composite Numbers and Shape Patterns DECEMBER: Dec 5: Introduction: Add and Subtract different types of fractions Dec12: Multiplication of fractions Dec 19: Division of fractions JANUARY 2023: Jan 2: Comparison of fraction Jan 9: Decimals, fraction to decimal and vice versa Jan 16: Compare decimal, add and subtract decimal Jan 23: Multiply decimals and word problems Jan 30: Lines, Rays, Angles and different triangles/Acute, Right, obtuse, straight angles, acute, right, obtuse triangles FEBRUARY: Feb 6: Degrees, Measure and Draw Angles/Angles ( 90, 180, 270, 360) Feb 13: Find the perimeter of rectangles using a formula, word problems Feb 20: Area and find the missing side length Feb 27: Review MARCH: Mar 6: Word problems Mar 13: Number Sense- Multiplication Mar 20: Number Sense and Division Mar 27: Number Sense and Place Value APRIL: Apr 3: Line Plots April 10: Comparing Pictographs & Line Plots with Fractions April 17: Venn diagram and Pie Graph April 24: Review week and Game week!
