US Grade 4
Dear Parents of Incoming 4th Graders,

Welcome to the fourth grade! This is an exciting year for your child as they embark on a new journey of learning and growth. In fourth grade, your child will be exposed to a wide range of subjects and concepts that will prepare them for the future.

My curriculum is aligned with state standards and designed to provide a well-rounded education. Your child will learn essential skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment activities such as art,and music.

I understand that transitioning to a new grade can be a big change for both children and parents. I am committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. I am experienced and a dedicated professional who is passionate about teaching and helping children succeed. I will work closely with your child to ensure they are challenged and supported in their learning.

I encourage you to be involved in your child's education. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child has a successful and enjoyable fourth-grade year.

About the Class- Students will have access to weekly printed learning packets. I will post the schedule of the lessons along with printed learning packets every Sunday. In this class, students will be assigned homework. Homework is to enhance our class lesson. Please encourage your learner to complete homework assignments.

Each class will begin with a welcome where I ask how each of your children are feeling, and a morning Spiral review. The morning Spiral review is a review of previously learned concepts, either during an entire lesson or in a short portion of a lesson. After learning foundational concepts, students continue to practice throughout the year to maintain understanding.

Then, we will focus on our scheduled subjects- 2 per day, per week.

All learners need to focus and come to class ready. When learners come to class prepared, it allows them to focus and participate more. This means that you will become part of my team, and I will become part of your village. Together we will work towards complete success for your child.

Please see "Sources" for Class content

Our Schedule will be broken up to create a learning flow. We will Focus on 2 subjects fully each week- Rotating math and science, ELA and social studies.

Regarding Report Cards- These will be offered, but only if your child turns in their work to me regularly. Otherwise, I am happy to offer a progress report to let you know if they participated in class, followed directions, and were respectful to both their peers and their teacher.

Here is our schedule- for now. It may change as we adapt, and we see what works best for us as a group.
