Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to navigate group interaction. Students will also learn some critical thinking skills when interacting with each other and class content.
No homework is required. Optional homework will be given, such as continuing a topic of conversation at home.
None.
30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
At times we may discuss international news. We will be limited in our assessment and no discussion of politics will be permitted. No graphic photos/video will be used. I will intentionally steer any conversation to encourage kids to feel safe. Please see below. As an example, "Today a major earthquake occurred in Chile. We know that many other countries are sending teams of helpers to offer food, water, and temporary shelter. We can be so glad that people are specially trained helpers to offer exactly the help they need. Let's chat about what an earthquake is . . . " *****By signing up for this class, you agree that your child will be informed of some major new events, which may not always be positive.
If your session topics will be learner-directed or dictated weekly due to current events/happenings, you do not have to submit the four weeks of detail, but will need to explain this in the class description, as well as note any potential supplies or materials that would be necessary from week to week
