Students should be prepared to practice between lessons. I work with each student to come up with an individual practice plan for the week based on what we are working on. Generally and ideally, students at this level should be practicing 30-60 minutes a day.
Students at this level should have a copy of the Barret Oboe Method, Everybody's Favorite Oboe Solos, and Pares Scales for Oboe. All can be found readily online. Other solo repertoire needed throughout the class will depend on the needs and goals of the individual student.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
Method books and solo repertoire will be recommended based on the current playing level of each student.
