US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Join me in these fun hands-on lessons where I will provide step-by-step instructions for completing our science experiments. Each week we will gather food-related items, print our official science journals and practice the scientific method. Each lesson there are some simplified key terms that will cover with a hands-on approach. There is a team Kahoot quiz at the end of this course covering all of the key terms covered during our 4 weeks together. No account or personal information is required to play the Kahoot game. Learners can compete for a top spot on the leaderboard by taking the quiz as many times as they'd like. Homework assignments include, answering the "question of the week" and sharing pictures of their completed science journals. WEEK ONE: Hot Chocolate Science - Learn how molecules speed up or slow down based on temperature. Test different items such as salt, pepper and our hot chocolate mix to see what can or cannot dissolve. Test our hot cocoa mix by attempting to dissolve it in cold, warm and hot water. WEEK TWO: Frozen Ice Powers and Instant Snowman - 3-in-1 supercooling experiment! Learn what water needs to build upon in order to freeze. Freeze an entire glass of water with the touch of your finger, freeze an entire bottle of water by slamming it down on the table and lastly, pour water out of a bottle to form an instant snowman! WEEK THREE: 2-in-1 Magic Skittles and Magic Milk - Watch in amazement as our food coloring swirls in magical colors away from our q-tip and create a beautiful pattern with Skittles. WEEK FOUR: The Ultimate Cookie Dunk! Learn about density and buoyancy in this delicious experiment. Using the scientific method we will learn what cookies will sink or float. There are no live classes. If you're interested in live classes, you will enjoy my weekly science classes: https://outschool.com/classes/ongoing-science-experiments-1OFgcJbH?usid=qT21bSsd&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link Learners will need adult guidance when heating water for the hot chocolate science experiment. These experiments are not made to be eaten but are instead are made from common food and drink items. Use caution and common sense if you choose consume food items. For example, you might be able to eat Skittles but once they are mixed with dish soap then they are no longer safe to eat. Beware of any food items that you purchase because they might contain possible allergens such as nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, or soy.

Hello parents and students,
I encourage learning through enthusiastic engagement. I believe children learn best through curiosity or play. Teaching online has been my passion since 2015. I was an online English teacher with VIPKID for over three years and an Outschool teacher for ever since. VIPKID taught me how to engage with students in a virtual setting. They taught me how to use props, singing and demonstrations to increase learning. I encourage student output and participation during class.
I have a bachelors degree in marketing and science. I am an entrepreneur and business owner. I have also been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. I am a homeschooling mother to my twin sons and my two daughters. I am constantly seeking creative ways for my children and students to learn new things.
