Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Little scientists have the option of getting the weekly supplies and participating in the science activity or may choose to simply observe. Every week will include a science journal to practice the scientific method and fill out during lessons. Journals also include key terms and explanations pertaining to the science experiment of the day. Have a competitive side to you? Play our game of Kahoot over and over to fight for your space at the top of the leader board! We will cover many scientific terms in a fun and simplified way.

Science activities include:

WEEK 1 - Dancing Raisins - Learn about density and buoyancy in a fun way as we watch in amazement while our raisins dance up and down in our jars! What else can we get to dance?
WEEK 2 - Snow Storm - Create beautiful balls of white-looking snow inside our jars as we learn about chemical reactions.
WEEK 3 - Ocean Layers - Have fun creating beautiful layers in our jars while learning about the ocean.
WEEK 4 - Salt Volcano AKA Salt Lava Lamp - Learn about density and buoyancy as we separate layers and then add salt for a magical surprise. Final Kahoot quiz covering all of the terms we learned throughout this course.

I will provide step-by-step instructional videos for our activities in order for students to participate along at home. I often include my own children in videos to create more of an age appropriate classroom like environment. I want your learner to feel like they are part of a class and will be available for any questions or communications. New videos will be available each Monday for 4 weeks. Each week students will get a “Scientist Journal” AKA a printable one-page questionnaire, supplies and information worksheet. Students can fill out the questionnaire with their hypothesis and observations.

How does a “Flexible Schedule” course work?

No scheduled live video chats. Video lessons are each about 10-25 minutes long and can be paused, viewed, re-watched and studied at your convenience. Great if your learner prefers independent pacing or is uncomfortable with live video chat.

Hello parents and students,

I encourage learning through enthusiastic engagement. I believe children learn best through curiosity or play. Teaching online has been my passion since 2015. I was an online English teacher with VIPKID for over three years and an Outschool teacher for ever since. VIPKID taught me how to engage with students in a virtual setting. They taught me how to use props, singing and demonstrations to increase learning. I encourage student output and participation during class.

I have a bachelors degree in marketing and science. I am an entrepreneur and business owner. I have also been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. I am a homeschooling mother to my twin sons and my two daughters. I am constantly seeking creative ways for my children and students to learn new things.
