4 Must Read Books for High School! Socratic-Style Semester Course 2 Times a Week for 8 Weeks
Class experience
During this 4-week class, we will use the Socratic-style to discuss the four books. If a grade is desired, I will be happy to provide assignments, writing prompts, quizzes, and tests. This is an accelerated class. Learners must read the assigned pages/chapters daily. Since the class is discussion-based, there MUST be at least three learners enrolled for the class to occur. If you are hesitant about enrolling in the class because you do not have a copy of Animal Farm, please do not worry....
Learners will analyze: -plot structure -author's craft -theme -character motivation -character development -influence of the setting -dialect -mood/tone -literary devices used
In over 19 years of teaching, I have found that I love reading, discussing, and analyzing what I have read. It is my goal to transfer my passion for reading to others.
Each learner should have a hard copy of each book. All other assignments will be provided via Google.
