Class Experience
This one-on-one coaching session is designed to help 4-H and FFA members succeed in their projects—whether they’re working on livestock, veterinary science, horticulture, ag mechanics, or record books. With personalized support from an experienced agriculture educator and livestock producer, learners will receive expert guidance tailored to their specific goals, deadlines, and project areas. Whether they need help preparing for a livestock show, polishing a record book, studying for a judging contest, or organizing an SAE, this class provides the individualized feedback and tools they need to improve and succeed. This class is completely personalized to meet the learner’s current needs and interests. After a brief introduction, we’ll spend the session focusing on one or more of the following areas (based on the learner’s choice): Topics may include: - Livestock care, nutrition, grooming, or showmanship prep - Record book organization, accuracy, and improvement - SAE project planning or progress reviews - Public speaking or demonstration coaching - FFA CDE/LDE prep (Vet Science, Livestock Judging, Ag Mechanics, etc.) - Goal setting and project time management - Fair or competition preparation - Resume or officer application coaching How is this class structured? - Class opens with a brief check-in to set goals for the session - I’ll guide the student through questions, shared work, or feedback depending on what they need - We may use screen-sharing, shared documents, visual aids, or practice questions - The class ends with a clear takeaway or action plan for the student to continue their progress What is my teaching style? My style is supportive, practical, and flexible. I bring both classroom teaching experience and real-world agriculture and livestock knowledge to help students connect learning with life. I focus on encouragement, clarity, and helping each student feel more confident and capable in their work. This is a fully live, one-on-one coaching session. Students will talk with me directly, share questions, screen share or show their work, and get instant feedback. Learners are encouraged to come prepared with materials or questions, but I can also guide students who aren't sure where to start.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Western Governors University
I bring over a decade of hands-on experience in livestock production, agricultural education, and youth mentorship through both formal and informal settings. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences Secondary Education and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Veterinary Science. My background includes 10 years of professional experience working in veterinary clinics and livestock health, as well as managing my own cattle program.
In addition to my academic and industry background, I have taught agriculture and science to middle and high school students and have worked closely with 4-H and FFA members for years. I’ve mentored students in livestock projects, record books, ag mechanics, vet science, and career development events (CDEs). I understand the structure and expectations of 4-H and FFA programs and help students set goals, stay organized, and develop strong project presentations.
My teaching style is student-centered and practical, designed to meet learners where they are. I focus on building confidence, skill development, and real-world application—whether a student is preparing for a county fair, a state contest, or simply learning how to care for their first animal. I’m passionate about helping youth succeed in agriculture and enjoy supporting students in developing projects they can be proud of.
