Class Experience
Little scientists have the option of getting the weekly supplies and participating in the science activity or may choose to simply observe. Science/STEM/STEAM activities include: Week One - Ice Cream in a Bag - Practice the scientific method as we change states of matter while making delicious ice cream. Week Two - Lemon Volcano - Create a fun chemical reaction as we mix an acid and base together with our colorful, foaming lemon volcanos! Week Three - Phases of the Moon with Oreos - Learn...
Each week our science journal will have a list of supplies.
Supplies: Balloon, Plastic Bottle, Vinegar, Baking Soda, Funnel, Tissue or Scrap Paper, Vegetable Oil, Salt, 4 Food Colors, Sugar, Half and Half, Vanilla Extract, rock salt (table salt will also work), 1 gallon bag, 1 quart bag, ice, 2-4 Lemons, Dish Soap, Spoon, Tray or Bowl (To catch our messes), Black and White Oreos. Optional: Flavoring such as chocolate or strawberry syrup. A rag or towel.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
