Hello! Welcome to my Kindergarten Skills class! I'm so glad that you are here, and I hope that your learner can join me soon! We will start out each day with a typical circle time featuring days of the week, months of the year, weather, etc. and then we will transition into lessons that include language Arts, writing, math, STEAM activities, and more. The class ratio is small (6 students max) to provide plenty of individual attention from the teacher and to maximize interaction opportunities with the teacher and class. PREREQUISITE: YOUR CHILD SHOULD HAVE MASTERED LETTER RECOGNITION BY SIGHT AND SOUND AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO DISTINGUISH DIFFERENCE IN UPPER AND LOWER CASE LETTERS, COUNT FROM 1-10, RECOGNIZE 2D SHAPES, COLORS, AND RECOGNIZE NUMBERS 1-5 BEFORE BEGINNING THIS COURSE. This is a class that is divided in to three 13-week quarters. Below is a sample schedule for a class starting in the fall. Parental Guidance
At certain points during class, we will be using safety scissors. Although, safety scissors are "safe" it is recommended that a parent be close by to supervise use.
Supply List
For this class you will need plain paper, a pencil and your choice of crayons, colored pencils, or markers, safety scissors, and a can of playdoh (any color), hot wheels car. Worksheets, games, and other printouts will be sent to you each week before classes begin.
