US Grade 3
This is 3rd grade 18 week curriculum that is aligned with US national standards for the second half of the school year. It would be great also as a review for 4th grade students who need a little extra help or advanced 2nd grade students who want to be challenged. This is a traditional math class taught similar to class at school. Great for homeschoolers too! Contact me if you need a specific time scheduled and I can try to accommodate you! Week 1: Multiplication 6,7, Dividing by 6,7 Week 2: Multiplying by 8 and 9, Dividing by 8 and 9 Week 3: Fractions of a Whole, Fractions on a Number Line, Comparing Fractions with Like Denominators and Like Numerators Week 4: Equivalent Fractions, Simplifying Fractions Week 5: Comparing Fractions Week 6: Adding and Subtracting Fractions Week 7: Meters and Centimeters, Subtracting from Meters, Kilometers Week 8: Liters and Milliliters, Kilograms and Grams. Word Problems Week 9: Circles, Angles, Triangles Week 10: Properties of Triangles, Properties of Quadrilaterals Week 11: Using a Compass, Area Week 12: Area of Rectangles, Area of Composite Figures Week 13: Perimeter, Area and Perimeter Week 14: Units of Time, Calculating Time Week 15: Calculating Time Week 16: Money, Dollars and Cents, Making $10 Week 17: Adding Money, Subtracting Money Week 18: Word Problems, Review Paper and pencil are the only required materials. Slides will be taught in textbook fashion with interactive drill/practice features when possible. This class could have between 1-4 students, but can also be offered as a guaranteed 1:1 individual class if you prefer. Please contact me for the pricing and information if you would like a customized class created for you. In group settings, all learners will have many opportunities to practice each skill individually and corrections will be made to ensure comprehension. Participation will ensure understanding. In 1:1 settings, pacing is customized for your student ensuring the best understanding and retention of skills. In addition to the live meetings, if requested, an independent practice activity from the workbook can be posted after each meeting so that students can practice learned skills independently. The answer keys can also be provided to parents upon request. These outside of class activities are optional but encouraged as part of the class experience. The progression of this class feeds into the next class which covers Book 4A of the Grade 4 Singapore Dimensions textbook. This class is guaranteed not to cancel for low enrollment.

I have 19+ years of experience teaching Phonics, Early Reading, ESL Reading, Math K-8th grade, Algebra and early intervention small group experience for learners needing accommodations. I also have over 7 years of online group teaching and 1:1 tutoring experience. In addition to my Outschool classes I have taught ESL with VIPKid, math with Splashlearn and provide custom 1:1 tutoring online in Reading and Math. I love teaching!
