Unit 5: Changes to Earth's Surface - What Are Some Landforms? (pages 201-214)
Before class - Please read and complete pages 204-212 and make your own show and tell item! Show and Tell - Your child can use their creativity to show the colors and layers of Earth. See page 204. Example ideas: use different colored playdough to layer the colors, draw and color, or paint the layers, make a beaded bracelet using the colors of the Earth's layers, or make a cake or cookies with different colored icing. Complete together in class - pages 201-203 and 213-214

Before class - Please read and complete pages 216-222 Show and Tell - Students may bring something to show the class and explain a cause and effect relationship. Complete together in class - pages 215, 223-224

Before class - Catch up on any pages you haven't read or completed yet, up through page 224. If you're all caught up, congratulations!! We are going to begin learning about the types of soil. This is a good time for you to observe what type of soil you have in your area. Here in north Georgia, we have the red clay type of soil. Parents, please help your child observe if they have more clay, sandy, or silt soil. Before class - Please read and complete pages 261-262, 266-276 Show and Tell - an item that can go in a compost (see page 275 for ideas) Complete together in class - pages 265, 277-278

Environmental Scientists, S.T.E.M. & Unit 6 Review (pages 277-286)
Before class - Please read and complete pages 277-282 Show and Tell - Bring a fruit or vegetable that grows in your state. With an adult helping at your home, you can use the internet before class to try to find out the best soil pH for that fruit or vegetable to grow. (see page 280 for help) In class - discuss page 280 and begin Unit 6 Review together

What Is Weather? (pages 301-314)
Before class - Please read and complete pages 301-312 Show and Tell - Students may bring a book, news article, or item that represents extreme weather, such as a tornado, blizzard, thunderstorm, or hurricane. Complete together in class - 313-314

Keeping Dry & Unit 7 Review (pages 317-322)
Before class - Please read and complete pages 317-322 Show and Tell - You may show something you have at your home that you wear or use in inclement weather. ⭐🌦️Cloud Selfie Challenge: Post in the classroom a picture of you with clouds and identify the type of clouds in the picture.⭐🌦️ In class - friendly raincoat vs. poncho debate (go over student's answers and drawings pages 317-318)

Space Scientists and Moon Phases (pages 339-348)
Before class - Please read and complete pages 343-348. Show and Tell - any space related item In class - pages 339-340 Later this week... We will be making the moon phases together. Students are welcome to bring Oreo cookies, playdough, watercolor paints, or any other items to create the phases.
