Ms. Melissa Barrow (Certified Teacher)

My name is Melissa Barrow. I am a former early childhood educator and I'm currently a certified elementary teacher in Ontario, Canada. I am a former classroom teacher who has moved to 1-on-1 and small group online classes to help further support students who need it. I enjoy finding new strategies and games to engage students in their learning. I like to support students in learning how to use the resources around them to help support their learning and further their independence.

Ms. Jeannie Chiasson (Certified Teacher)

Hi there! I'm Jeannie Chiasson, originally from Nova Scotia but now happily rooted in New Brunswick after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. I've spent over a decade as a classroom teacher, mainly teaching bright minds in grades 3 and 5.

Now, here's my little secret: I absolutely love math! I'm the kind of person who watches YouTube videos about math and plays math puzzle games just for fun! Teaching math has become my passion because, believe it or not, there was a time when I thought I was "bad at math." Thankfully, an amazing professor showed me that the way I thought about numbers was just as valid. It wasn't wrong; it was simply different. Since that 'aha' moment, I've been on a mission to show my students that numeracy is like an intriguing puzzle, waiting to be solved.

When I’m not teaching, I stage manage for community theatre, I love to run long distances (I’m in training to do a marathon!), I enjoy working in my garden, and I am a voracious reader.

I look forward to seeing you in my class. Let's take on this math journey together!
