US Grade 3
Beginner - Advanced Level
Our curriculum aligns with the Common Core standards, and covers all of the required material to meet those standards. The first two units cover concepts such as multi-digit addition and subtraction problems as well as Metric conversions. Multiplication problems are also covered in these units. Class Structure: Our classes begin with a story-based section, followed by a warm-up reviewing concepts. Our tutors then begin the new content area followed by different ways to review the content provided. Once the content is reviewed, there is an opportunity to earn rewards through a game. After the game, the story continues to check in on the character's adventure, and more content areas are covered with practice problems. Classes end with another game and more reward point opportunities, closing out with a final follow-upon our characters for the week. Delivery: Our tutors teach live via Powerpoints that are created and designed utilizing our curriculum and story line and games. This Wonder Math content is provided in a One-on-One setting, providing a more individualized approach, offering a greater level of support, or extra practice, dependent on the specific situation. Teaching Styles: Each tutor brings their own distinct teaching attributes to the class, our overall teaching style is that our classes are of a hybrid method. While our tutors present the content, the students are in control of the flow of the class. This allows for the most differentiated, and individualized experience possible for our students. Interaction: Our students interact with our teachers regularly through the class. We utilize Powerpoint slides, and the students are consistently interacting with the teacher, reading along as characters for the story based sections, working through the content with the teacher in a consistent, one-on-one basis to create a rapport. There are two games included in each lesson, and students are able to interact as much, or as little, as they would like.
