US Grade 3
In this course, students will explore, review, and practice key topics from the 3rd-grade math curriculum, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and word problems. Each class begins with a discussion about the week's topic(s), allowing the teacher to gauge the students' prior understanding. The lessons follow the “I Do, We Do, You Do” approach: the teacher demonstrates a concept, then works through a problem alongside the students, and finally, the students solve problems independently with guidance as needed. Every class includes teaching, practice, and real-world application through word problems. During the class, plenty of discussion questions will be used to encourage critical thinking, help students connect with the material, and introduce each lesson's topics. This class is ideal for students aged 7 to 9 or anyone wanting to practice 3rd-grade math skills. No prior knowledge of the topics is required, as everything will be taught and reviewed during the session. The lesson materials will be presented using Google Slides, which the teacher will share on their screen. Students won’t need anything beyond access to the Outschool Zoom classroom. Optional homework and review materials are provided after each session for extra practice.
