Class Experience

In this class students will focus on a new strategy each week for tackling the topics of addition and subtraction, rounding, and area and perimeter. These 3rd grade math skills are often difficult for 3rd grade students but they are foundational skills for success in many other grade levels. This class is designed to make students feel successful in their learning by beginning each class with a high level of support from the teacher and gradually giving more responsibility to the student throughout the class to solve each problem. After each class, students are given an optional worksheet for more independent practice of that class's skill. Students will be given multiple opportunities to interact with the teacher and their classmates in each class. Students do not need to have taken any of the previous lessons to be able to participate in class. Following is an outline of the topics that will be covered:

Hello Outschool families, and welcome to Teaching Done Different by Ashley Chambers!

A Message From the Founder:
As a current 3rd grade public school teacher of 5 years and a current Outschool teacher, I know that students simply learn different today than they did only a few years ago. This knowledge has required me to find creative and fun ways to provide Common Core curriculum to students in a different and refreshing ways that fits how kids learn today. When designing classes for Teaching Done Different it is always my aim to help students learn rigorous material in such a fun way that they don't even realize they are learning.
