I am a licensed, K-12 teacher in the state of Oregon. I have held a teaching license in Oregon for 14 years. I currently hold a Professional Level license in Special Education that is valid through 2028. My Master of Arts and Teaching is from Pacific University, Oregon. During my teaching career I have taught students with severe multiple disabilities in life skills settings to 6th grade general education and everything in between. I have spent most of my career as a member of multidisciplinary IEP (Individualized Education Program) teams. In that role I helped evaluate, plan, implement and deliver individualized, small group and whole group instruction. I have designed education programs from the ground up, including classroom design, curriculum mapping, lesson planning and staff development programs. I have had the honor of successfully mentoring student teachers working through their masters and licensing programs. I have worked closely with school psychologist, counselors, speech pathologist, autism specialists, physical therapists, nurses and most importantly Parents and Students. I look forward to working with you and your student soon.
Homework Offered
An assignment will be assigned Tuesday through Thursday on days with no live meetings. A final test will be available on Friday. The data from these assignments and tests will drive instruction. Homework should not be a source of major stress. If the daily assignments are taking more than an hour to complete or causing undue stress, please contact me and we can make adjustments. Mini video lessons will be provided for review on days with no live class. I will also monitor the classroom discussion board throughout the day. If daily assignments don't fit your schedule, or schooling style, please do what you can and focus on completing the Friday test to be turned in prior to Mondays class.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
