I am a very patient and kind teacher who understands that kids have unique differences and needs. I recently taught 3rd-grade Language Arts at a private classical school and I loved it! I believe that working with our kids to understand the human language through understanding the mechanics of grammar, writing, and reading fluently is the way to ensure they are successful.

Growing up, writing and reading have always been one of my favorite pastimes and I have kept my love for both throughout my adulthood. I am constantly reading great books, and I have spent the last ten years of my life writing for a living- including self-publishing a book and growing an education blog.

I have been homeschooling for over 15 years and have taught both my daughters to read and become proficient writers through the lens of literature. I have also observed that selecting literature pieces that make a connection with our students makes a tremendous difference in their desire to learn more technical subjects like grammar. I can’t wait to help your students enjoy Language Arts!
There is no homework assigned. As an ongoing class, we will allow time during class for students to share writings, illustrations or journal entries.
Students should bring a pencil and notebook to class where they can write their journals and any writing assignments we’ll be completing during class. I will also provide worksheets as needed to print out for class each week.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
There is no formal assessment.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
From time to time, we may use Kahoot for games or Spelling City.
