3rd ELA (Reading/Writing) SBAC/MAP Prep Jeoparody Common Core Test Prep Made Fun
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will practice/learn COMMON CORE standards using questions that come directly from the SBAC. Students will play Jeoparody with me and other students to create an engaging way to practice key areas of COMMON CORE grade level reading, writing and language standards. If there is a gap in their learning of a standard, then students will learn the steps they need to take to solving their problem. Once students are able to confidently answer ALL questions correctly on their own, then they know they have mastery on those standards and are ready to move onto other problems. Practice is key to ensure they do their best on the SBAC or any other end of year assessment. The more exposure they get to these problems, the better score they will achieve because they will have mastery. Once they have achieved mastery of one grade level, they can move to the next class that I offer, which will increase the rigor and exposure they have to additional COMMON CORE content. Ultimately this will allow them to test advanced or above grade level. Students will get a chance to prove why their answer is correct by showing their steps to others who might have had a gap in learning which is the DOK 4, the highest depth of knowledge. If no students can analyze and explain their steps, then I will reteach them to ensure the highest levels of mastery of grade level standards. This will also help them prepare for the SBAC mostly in the area of the Performance Task which is relatively half of the test. Since learning requires for the students to do the thinking and carry most of the load, I will be there to support, reteach and give them the tools necessary for mastery, however the students will be doing most of the work. (This is how I have managed to get most of my class at or above grade level every year I have been a public school teacher.)
