US Grade 3 - 4
This is part 2 of an intensive writing course that will take your student through an entire school year exploring narrative, formal letters, descriptions, how-to articles, persuasive writing, creative writing and expository writing in a small group setting. Class will include instruction in the various types of writing, writing process from brainstorming to publishing. An opportunity to practice public speaking skills will given at the end of each writing project. Student participation is an integral part of this course and teacher will encourage each student to share their ideas with their classmates. Teacher will work closely with students to help them improve their writing skills. This course can be part of companion classes; Spelling Wizards and Grammar Sharks. Enrolling in all 3 of these classes would give your student a well rounded 3rd and 4th grade ELA curriculum. There will be a class beginning in June as well as one beginning in September. The 28 week class is divided into 4 parts of 5-8 weeks each to make it more manageable financially and for parents to select sections that best meet their student's needs. Also, when the company makes it available to all students, there will be an option of paying weekly . Part 2 Week 1 Lesson 1: What Makes a Good Formal Letter? Lesson 2: Similies and Metaphors Week 6 Lesson 1: Using Graphic Organizers Lesson 2: Prewriting/Drafting Week 7 Lesson 1: Editing and Revising Lesson 2: Proofreading/Proofreading Marks Week 8 Lesson 1: Publishing Class Lesson 2: Sharing

Supply List
Student needs one spiral notebook or composition book for daily use and another one for publishing their work. Student needs pencil for each class. Additional supplies may be listed in class notes for specific classes.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
