I'm so glad you found one of my classes! Class structure: I begin each class with a quick get-to-know you question. From there, we will play a quick fluency game called Superspeed 2000. If it's a non-fiction passage, the topic of the passage will be posted, and students will share any knowledge they already have on the subject. After, we will read through the passage together while addressing any unknown vocabulary words. Students will be asked to Echo read following the teacher. This means they will read out loud as a group. If a child doesn't feel comfortable reading out loud for others to hear, they can whisper read. All passages will be provided in printable form at the beginning of each week on the classroom page. If you are unable to print the page, it will also be shown in class. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. I absolutely love working with each and every child and I look forward to helping your child grow. Parental guidance is not required. However, it may be needed to support on-task behavior.
Supply List
(1) A regular laptop, Google Chromebook, iPad, or desktop computer (2) A webcam (internal or external) is essential for this course. (3) A headset with a microphone on the headphones is recommended so that both the student and the teacher can hear the sounds the other makes clearly and precisely.
