Description
Class Experience
How do people create those buildings for games and architecture renderings, well you're in luck this is the part 1 of 2 classes that will walk the students through the 3d modeling process. During this four week class we will explore 3d modeling while focusing on creating buildings. Over the course of this class students will learn 3 modeling techniques and then spend one class staging their work with lights, camera's and animations. The class will be run as if the student is a new intern at...
In this fun class students will learn: - Concept Art - Navigating in a 3d environment - Transform tools - Move, Scale and Rotating a model - What is a 2d shape versus a 3d object - Editing the different parts of a model such as Vertex, Edge and Face - Working with low polygon counts verses high polygon counts - Adding Materials and what is a Texture? - Adding lights and cameras for animations
Each week the students will receive a concept art piece that they have to create using the tools they have learned in class. These will take the student at least an hour or more time for homework. If the student has a piece they would love to do instead of the stated homework assignment I would be more then open for the student to do that instead but please have them bring some concept art with them to class so that we can talk about it.
This class does require a good computer and a 3 button mouse for the student to work with. We will be using the software Blender for this class so please check that your computer can run the software before downloading it before class. Blender does work with most computer systems made in the last 5-10 years. This is a free software and available at the website https://www.blender.org/.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
After each assignment is turned in I will send an email back with a written critique of how the student did and where they can improve.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
