What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekProjects
Every week students will be guided through a different design project. A theme will be given and the students can design their own 3D object around the theme with help and guidance from the teacher.Class Experience
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Do you love 3D design and 3D printing? Each week, new students will get caught up about 3D design and 3D printing while students who are rejoining will get a review. After, you will learn some information about the object we are creating to ensure you have all the tools to create your best design. We will use TinkerCAD to build all our designs in 3D. Week of Nov 4: Become a master architect as you design your very own building! It can be a skyscraper made to stand out in a city line, the house of your dreams, a magical castle, or anything else you can come up with! Week of Nov 11: Become an automotive engineer as you design your dream car. Design your car to be sleek and aerodynamic for speed, big and strong for work, fun and wild for style, or anything else you can think of! Week of Nov 18: Become a character designer for a movie or video game company as you design your own character. Learn about proportions, exaggerations, and silhouettes to create your own wacky and wonderful character. Week of Nov 25: Become an aerospace engineer as you design your own rocket ship. Learn about how rocket ships are made and how they work so you can design a rocket ship that can take you to the moon and beyond! Week of Dec 2: Become a master painter as you design your own 3D painting for luxury galleries. It can be a cubism painting like Picasso, an impressionism painting like Vincent Van Gogh, a realism painting like Leonardo da Vinci, or anything else you can come up with! Week of Dec 9: Become a hero of animals as you build one of your own. Be a genetic engineer and create a new animal, be an endangered species biologist and make an endangered species, or be a veterinarian and build a furry friend. Week of Dec 16: Become a mechanical engineer as you design and build your very own robot. Will your robot be made to bring supplies to people in need, be a friend to someone, or to win a robot wrestling match?

Students will also learn about 3D printing, its advantages and disadvantages over other manufacturing processes, and how to tailor their designs for the specific limitations of 3D printers.
