As a certified teacher in education for 30 years, I know children learn best in small settings. I’m always amazed at what can be accomplished in a small amount of time in a one-to-one setting. One of the biggest benefits of tutoring is seeing the "lightbulbs come on" and confidence soar.

This private tutoring session will help your child gain the necessary skills and self-confidence needed to perform successfully in phonics, reading, writing, grammar knowledge, sentence structure, and anything else that you would like for your child to learn.  

Before class, I'll send an email requesting what you'd like me to cover in classes and what areas need improvement.  All children excel differently. My goal is for all my lessons to fit the needs of each individual child.  If you request, we will be working on decoding, attacking words, orthographic mapping of words, fluency, and overall literacy skills.  Got a middle schooler who struggles with reading? They may need to go back to the basics and foundational level. As an interventionist in a middle school, I see this quite often.

In addition, if you request, we can also work on writing, grammar, and/or reading comprehension skills. 

This is offered as a one-time class so that you have the freedom to sign your learner up for as many or as few sessions as you'd like. There is no prior experience or knowledge required to sign up!
