I am offering private sessions in piano and voice for students ranging from elementary to high school age! With a broad yet deep background studying and teaching both instruments, I am dedicated to creating an environment where creating music is as fun and exciting creatively as it is rigorous. Whether it be learning your favorite pop song to traditional musical theatre technique, I utilize a variety of methods to ensure that each student's lessons are tailored their specific goals. For voice, I highly recommend a focus on long-term technique (breath work, navigating registers, etc.) in addition to working on song-specific concerns (hitting specific notes, pop stylings, etc.) However, I also offer one-off coaching for auditions as well as theory-centered sessions focused on ear training or sight-singing. For piano, I will generally ask the student what they're interested in learning and go from there, creating simple arrangements for popular pop songs, etc. while learning about popular chord progressions, scales, and building in foundational posture, hand and fingering techniques. Piano books like the Alfred books may be helpful for advanced/extremely dedicated students looking for a deep dive but aren't required to start. Overall, I am open to a variety of methods and am excited to share the beauty of creating in this way to anyone with an interest or passion for music!! :) FOR SCHEDULING - Please let me know if there is not a time listed that works for you and we can work something out!
