Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is set up as a 30 minute 1:1 private oboe lesson. It's perfect for students of all levels who may need more individualized attention, especially those who are looking to catch up or get ahead in their oboe playing. Students who are excelling on the instrument benefit from being able to work on music that is more difficult and move at a faster pace. Students are welcome to bring any music they're working on to the lesson. If students don't have that available, level appropriate music will be provided. The topics covered each week will be based on the needs of the individual student. Some topics that may be discussed at the beginner level may include creating a practice routine, working on scales and warmups, and improving technique. Intermediate level topics include reinforcing note reading and rhythms, correcting and reinforcing embouchure and pitch, and an introduction to lyrical expression and music theory.
