3 Week Series: Color Theory & Emotion! (Teens)

Students will make their own color wheel reference page by mixing, identifying, and labeling according to color theory. Students will also learn about common emotions of color, and will create their own abstract color wheel-inspired piece!

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the basics of color wheel theory, how color effect emotions, how an artist can use color to help convey their messages, and will participate in a group discussion on their own pieces!
I am a certified K-12 Visual Arts teacher.
Be sure you have completed all that was covered each week before starting the following week's class.
 1 file available upon enrollment
2 sheets 9x12 watercolor paper or larger (or 3-4 separate sheets of smaller size) pencil with eraser black fine tip permanent pen/marker (optional) watercolor set (either pan or tubes that also contains black and white) medium round tip watercolor brush (soft) container of water paper towels **protect your work surface
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no official grading system, but I am a certified K-12 Visual Arts teacher.  I am willing to give out a Color Theory grade to those who ask.  If this is the case, simply reach out to me and also submit photos of their student's work for a closer look.  I will send you a graded document!
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
