3-Day Bootcamp Acting for Beginners

I believe in creating a highly interactive lesson to build self-confidence in students.
All my classes will involve ice-breakers, improv games, or physical warm-ups to release inhibitions creating a safe and fun environment.  I want them to know this is a space where there are no judgments and they are free to enjoy their creativity and imagination as much as possible. 

The first class will be an introduction to acting. I will introduce the skill of cold reading by showing them a short scene or commercial for them to perform during this class. I also give them a quick introduction to the Meisner Technique a fun acting repetition technique to apply.  Students will be given Scenes for them to choose and memorize/familiarize for the next class. 

The second class will be focused on Character and Script Analysis using the scenes given. Students will learn how to make instinctive choices for the Scene and Character. Students will be paired up during the class to perform scenes together or with me. Afterward, students will choose a monologue to memorize for the next class along with another scene to analyze and memorize.

In the Final class, students will break down stages of the monologue they memorized. I will give them the chance to use their choices and interpretations when they perform their monologues. We will then go through their chosen monologues and fine-tune the choices students have made.
