Class Experience

Students will learn how to create a 3-D Christmas Ornament! I will be making the 3-D Christmas Ornament right along with the students step by step and only the basic materials/supplies are needed. This project serves as a perfect tree decoration or handmade gift. Students will have fun while sharing ideas in a positive and encouraging environment. Learners will receive four templates and we will complete as many as time allows. We will focus on one ornament during the class. Students will enjoy returning to this project again and again.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, Outschool families! My name is Mrs. Hedrick. I am a wife and home school mother of four. I have worked with youth over the past twenty years, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with students through Outschool.
I enjoy teaching a variety of Math, Handwriting, Science and Art classes that incorporate hands-on learning through the use of tangible items. I am also passionate about teaching Math and Science classes through baking, crafts and art.
I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, which certifies me to teach all subjects K-8th grade, and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also hold an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. I taught 4th grade in a public school setting for five years and have home-schooled my own children over the past fifteen years. I have served as the Vacation Bible School Director at my local church for the past twelve years, and I have worked with youth groups in various settings.
My motto is, "Learn By Doing," and I feel it is possible to engage students of all learning styles through an online platform. I believe in motivating students to become life-long learners, and I feel students learn best when they are actively involved and engaged. I look forward to teaching your learner with a hands-on approach in a positive and encouraging environment. I can't wait to see you in the classroom!
