Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
In this semester's course, students will actively engage in stimulating and exciting English lessons. This class uses videos, images, and graphic organizers to deliver the lessons. I use PowerPoint to direct the learning.

Reading Comprehension Student will be able to (SWBAT)
- SWBAT answer Who What When Where Why questions
- SWBAT identify details to describe the problem/solution in a text
- SWBAT identify important details that support the main idea of a passage 
- SWBAT describe the sequence of events in a passage
- SWBAT compare and contrast character thoughts, feelings, motivations
- SWBAT explain the meaning of the theme to find the lesson of a story

Writing
- SWBAT write short answer responses to the passage
- SWBAT write creative responses in story, poetry, and narrative formats.

This is a special education course and will be tailored to the academic needs of the students. With that being said, it is more learner-directed.  The skills above are the basic skills that will be taught but more will be added as we continue with sessions. Please message me beforehand if you would like to share anything specific about your child. This is a collaborative class where students will be asked to answer questions, or participate on a document live.

Day 1 of the week is Reader's Workshop- We read passages, short stories, poetry, and more, then answer comprehension questions and Writer's Workshop- We respond to readings with short answer responses, creative writing activities, and more
Day 2 of the week is Math mixed with a little science! Word problems, estimating, and so much more.
