Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
This class is tailored specifically to individual students. In this class, students will learn some of the following concepts as applicable to their individual needs: ....demonstrate proper indentation ....demonstrate proper letter spacing ....identify and insert appropriate punctuation ....identify parts of a sentence (subject, verb, & predicate) ....accurately conjugate verbs ....demonstrate subject-verb agreement ....use phonics to build spelling skills ....use a dictionary to demonstrate phonemic awareness ....create paragraphs using connected ideas ....craft creative and nonfiction stories ....revise drafts of their stories ....illustrate their stories
I completed formal training in Writer's Workshop while teaching 2nd grade and loved implementing it in my classroom! Friday morning story-sharing is the BEST!!! :)

Students are informally assessed on Fridays when they present their weekly stories.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some students adapt to virtual instruction better than others. If your student has difficulty focusing, I may recommend that they complete their course in a public area (living room or kitchen) to help them focus.
