US Grade 2
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This summer course will be a great opportunity to get a head start on second-grade math concepts or gain more individualized practice for students who have just completed second grade. This course will cover the basics of the Common Core Second Grade Math Standards. We recommend that students who are either entering second grade or who have just completed second grade enroll in this course. However, if you feel your child is excelling in math and needs a challenge, please feel free to enroll them! Due to the fact that this is a self-paced course, students who are already taking 2nd-grade math can enroll for additional support and practice. Homeschooled students can enroll in a complete 2nd-grade math review. Videos will be provided weekly along with practice lessons, homework, and additional activities. These math lessons will integrate real-world and engaging topics. The homework will include several options to choose from. Students can turn in their completed homework and projects through Outschool for feedback. Teachers will respond to student questions within two days and communicate homework feedback within five days. This self-paced course may be completed in ten weeks, if two lessons are completed weekly. However, students may complete the course in less or more time depending on the pace they go through lessons!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their math skills in number fluency, addition, subtraction, place value, measurement, data, money, and time.
