Come explore our What makes you, YOU and learn about the world around you and its many marvels during these Ongoing Science Lessons in Nonna's House. Each week will cover one of 34 different topics from NC essential standards for Second Grade science which shares many of its standards, if not all, with other states. Class will meet once a week for 40 minutes. I believe that everyone learns their own way. To accommodate the different learning styles I will be following the 5E Science Lesson...
Students will learn the Second Grade Standard Course of Study Topics throughout the year. These include Forces & Motion, MAtter, Earth's Systems and Structures, Living Organisms, and Evolution & Genetics
No homework for this class
Weekly Toolbox: Lab coat (a large white shirt will do), safety goggles, pencils, notebook, colored pencils, scissors, glue Weekly Lesson Handouts Experiment Supplies as indicate per week
Students will be required to complete an exit ticket. Upon completing they will self-assess their understanding of the lesson with either a Green Circle= Understands lesson, Yellow Circle= Has some questions/Understands some of lesson, or Red Circle= Needs help/Suggested repeat lesson
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental Guidance is expected. While any materials and experiments are not intended to be harmful in any way, some tools and activities may require supervision while using.
