Week 1Lesson 1Reading and WritingWe will read and discuss a nonfiction article and then write paragraphs.Lesson 2Geography and MathWe will locate the country we live in on a map. Then we will discuss place value in math.Lesson 3Science and EconomicsWe will learn about nutrition and also pretend to go grocery shopping.Lesson 4Spelling and ReadingWe will practice writing 1st grade spelling words and then read a book to a family member or friend.Week 2Lesson 5Grammar and ReadingWe will learn about words that have similar meanings. Then we will read and discuss a story.Lesson 6Spelling and MathWe will practice writing 1st grade spelling words and then compare numbers.Lesson 7Science and CivicsIn science we will discuss why weather changes and then we will learn about why rules are important in civicsWeek 3Lesson 8Math and GrammarWe will add numbers within 100 in math. Then we will discuss multiple meaning words.Lesson 9Writing and SpellingWe will write paragraphs about our favorite animals. Then we will practice writing 1st grade spelling words.Lesson 10Science and EconomicsWe will learn all about how batteries work in science. Then we will discuss how a person creates their own business.Week 4Lesson 11Math and ReadingWe will learn how to add and subtract 10 from numbers. Then we will practice reading 1st grade sight words.Lesson 12Grammar and SpellingWe will learn how to use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words when we're reading. Then we will practice writing 1st grade spelling words.Lesson 13Science and CivicsIn science we will learn about sustainable agriculture. Then in civics we will learn about laws and create our own laws.Week 5Lesson 14Math and WritingWe will learn how to subtract multiples of ten and in writing we will write a paragraph about our favorite animals.Lesson 15Spelling and EconomicsWe will practice writing 1st grade spelling words and then we will continue talking about how to create our own businesses.Lesson 16Geography and ScienceWe will learn where our countries are located on a map. Then we will learn about the movement of the sun during the course of a day.Week 6Lesson 17Reading and GeographyWe will learn about different bodies of water and then practice reading 1st grade sight words.Lesson 18Writing and GrammarWe will write paragraphs about our families. Then we will learn about affixes in grammar.Lesson 19Spelling and ScienceWe will practice writing 1st grade spelling words. Then we will learn about air pressure in science.Lesson 20MathWe will make our own clocks and then practice telling time.Week 7Lesson 21Civics and GrammarWe will be discussing ways we can help change the world in civics. Then we will learn what infectious diseases are in science.Lesson 26MathWe will practice counting to 120.Lesson 27Economics and SpellingWe will pretend to go grocery shopping. Then we will practice writing 1st grade spelling words.Lesson 28Reading and CivicsWe will read a story and practice sequencing the events of the story. Then we will learn about three different types of government.

This class includes movement/science and craft. We will use scissors at times. We will do science experiments, and we will be moving around. Please make sure your child has a clear safe space to move around as well as comfortable shoes and clothes and water close by. We ask parent's to be with their children during science experiments and while crafting.
