US Grade 2
US Grade 2 Hi, I am Teacher Meg! Welcome to Second Grade Phonics & Reading Comprehension. I am so happy you're here. In this ongoing course, we will cover second grade phonics while reading short passages to build fluency. It is recommended that your child be going into/already attending 2nd grade or have already taken my First Grade Phonics class. You can choose to drop in one week at a time or attend ongoing. Each class will follow the same format, 1 time a week/25 minutes. It is not necessary to attend the class from week 1, as skills will be taught independently from one another and continuously reviewed. **Will update as course progresses** Week of 3/15: Syllable Patterns (closed, open, silent e, vowel pair, r-controlled, and final stable syllable) Week of 3/22: Syllable Patterns (closed, open, silent e, vowel pair, r-controlled, and final stable syllable) Syllable Patterns (closed, open, silent e, vowel pair, r-controlled, and final stable syllable) Week of 3/29: 3 Letter Consonant Blends (scr, spl, str) Week of 4/5: 3 Letter Consonant Blends (scr, spl, str) Week of 4/12: Ending Consonant Blends (ng, nk) I use my own created lessons through Google Slides to engage learners. Worksheets will be provided to reinforce learning and check for understanding. Hope to see you soon! -Teacher Meg
