This course is designed for second graders, though other's may join if they are working on second grade standards. In this on-going class we will come together and prepare our brains for the day ahead. I will be using the second grade common core standards to guide instruction. This is an on-going class meaning that you do not have to join all the classes. Each day is it's own lesson and does not build on previous days. Each day will begin with a welcome and greeting We will then have a brief community talk where learners may share something they are thinking, if they wish After community talk, we will do a brief movement activity Quick calendar time to go over the month/day/year This will be followed by a quick math review, usually consisting of one problem We will have a short journal time before closing with our good-bye. **I do not cancel classes due to low enrollments. *****Changes for the 2023-2024 school year***** Classes will meet Mon-Thursday only. Skills will focus on a combination of 2nd/3rd grade skills and short mini lessons will be provided as needed.
Learning Goals
Students will learn a proper greeting, get moving, and build community while reviewing math skills and practicing journals.
