This class will go over the basic 2nd grade math concepts and use higher level thinking skills to take those concepts even farther.
Class experience
Learners will be expected to have their cameras open and be willing to share their thoughts and thinking process. Learners should be able to add and subtract 2 digit numbers with re-grouping. We will be using the "Old school" method of learning and not Common-core math. They should be able to tell time to the hour or more precisely. I will use virtual clocks, money, 100 charts, and other virtual tools to teach learners the basics of 2nd grade math. Then we will take it to another level and...
Learners will learn: 1) How to tell time to the minute. They will be able to do advanced word problems dealing with time. 2) How to count money and make change. 3) How measure using metric and standard forms of measurment covering linear, volume, and weight. 4) How add and subtract up to 3 digits with regrouping. 5) How to say numbers up to 19,999. 6) Identify basic fractions of a whole. 7) Identifying equivalent fractions.
