Class Experience

US Grade 2
Private tutoring for any topic within 2nd grade math curriculum (Common Core or otherwise), provided by a 2nd grade teacher!
Send me a message if your student is working below or above grade level.

I believe that every young learner can make progress and feel confident in math. I would love to provide support to help make that true for your student. My tutoring sessions are highly interactive and individualized, and my goal is for students to enjoy being here.

Before we begin tutoring, I will send you a short questionnaire through which you can tell me about your student + the skills you would like your student to develop. Please complete it and send it back before our first session. During our first session, I will give your student a short assessment to help me establish the skills they already have.

I'm looking forward to supporting your family in the wonderful world of math!

Hi! I’m Angie Persing.

I am bringing my experience as a second grade teacher and private tutor to Outschool to teach math, reading, and performing arts!

In my math classes, we learn how to explain our thinking about addition and subtraction, and how to explain one problem in different ways. I am a trained Orton-Gillingham tutor, and offer private reading and spelling tutoring for students with dyslexia.

In my performing arts classes, we learn how to write and tell good stories that will impact our audiences.

My classroom is a place where we live the following values:
-we learn best when we feel safe to make mistakes and take risks
-we learn how to think instead of just what to think
-we work together and teach each other to create the best ideas

I can't wait to learn with you!
