This 4 week course covers skip counting, place value, rounding, addition, and subtraction. Prior to this course students should be confident in counting to 100.
Class Structure - I provide each student with their own copy of a Google Slides presentation. This is where they will complete their work during class and homework. Students must have a google account that is not locked (ie: most school accounts) to use the slides. We may have occasional brain breaks with games or videos. Every class begins with a few minutes of socialization/getting to know each other. Then, I teach a math skill, model the skill, and let the students practice the skill. Grades can be given based on participation, if requested by parents. I do not give grades based on work completed because I do not believe in allowing students to get the wrong answer. We will continue working on every problem together until all students find the correct answer.
Teaching Style - My teaching style is relaxed and fun. I want the students to be comfortable in my class. I believe that when a student is comfortable and having fun with the teacher, they learn the best. I want to foster my students' confidence in their math abilities.

Students will develop confidence with number sense, skip counting, place values to hundreds, and rounding to tens and hundreds place. They will be prepared to learn and develop additional math skills such as addition, subtraction and multiplication using the skills learned in this course.Other Details
Parental Guidance
We will be using Google Slides as student workbooks, students will need access to an unblocked Google account (some school computers have blocks that do not allow outside links). Every student will have their own individualized Google Slides that is only shared with me. They will need to access their Slides at the beginning of every class.
Supply List
Paper Pencil Students must have access to their Google Slides (I share these with them at the beginning of the first class). They will need these for every class.

I have a Bachelor of Art in K-8 Interdisciplinary Studies. I have worked with students, ages 2 - 18, in multiple different settings including public schools, private daycares, Girl Scouts, and homeschooling my own children from primary school through high school graduation. I have worked in a 6-8th grade building in all core classes including 6-8th grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geography, Civics, Life Science, and ELA. My job was to pull small groups of students and reteach the concepts that were taught by the in class teacher, but in a easier to understand way for the students that struggled with the concepts. I also worked closely with the teachers to develop class curriculum for both the whole class and for struggling learners. I have over 10 years of experience working with children with both special learning and behavioral needs in a public classroom setting.
