US Grade 2
In this math class, we will work on skills taught in 2nd grade math. In this class, students will have an opportunity to ask and answer questions. They will be able to explain how they solved a problem and have a chances to "teach" the class. Each class will start with warm up problems and then move on to the lesson of the day. I will teach the lesson and then students will get the chance to solve problems on their own and with help if needed.

Add and subtract within 20.
2.OA.2 Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.
By end of grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
Use place value understanding and properties of operations to add and subtract.
2.NBT.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
2.MD.7 Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
2.G.1 Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes. (Sizes are compared directly or visually, not compared by measuring.)

In this lesson, we will work on the relationship between addition and subtraction. We will work on number bonds and writing equations. We will use the vocabulary words : equation, part, whole, equal, and sum. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Telling time and 2D Shapes
In this lesson, we will review our last class and counting by 5's and use that to help us tell time. We will work on telling time to 5 minutes. We will also work on 2D shapes and use the vocabulary words : polygon, quadrilateral, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, and octagon. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Word Problems
In our last lesson, we will work on word problems with addition and subtraction. We will work on deciding if we should add or subtract. We will write equations and draw pictures to solve. 30 mins online live lesson

Supply List
Students will need a paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker to use to solve their problems.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
