Class Experience
This class is designed to teach 2nd grade math skills as a support to your school or homeschool curriculum. I frequently pull in hands-on items and food, so be sure to watch the class announcements for supplies for the upcoming week. Students will finish each lesson with a fun math game, so your child will finish math with a smile. Your child will learn the following concepts and skills on these dates. Week 1-Place Value through 1,200 Week 2- Finding Numbers on a Number Line Week 3- Comparing...
My goal are for each student to gain confidence and ability in 2nd grade math. I also hope to encourage a love of math.
I have a Masters in Elementary Education as well as 28 years of teaching experience.
I do not assign homework.
Students will need to have either paper and pencil each week or a white board with a marker. Additional hands-on supplies will be sent to the Outschool Class Announcements as needed. By the end of the course, students will need a ruler with both inches and centimeters, yardstick and meter stick.
Informal assessment throughout the class.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
