In this multi-day class, we will review all the skills taught in 2nd Grade math so that your learner is prepared for 3rd grade math.

Class Experience

US Grade 2
In this 6 week class, students will review all of the math standards from 2nd Grade. 

I will show students different ways to solve problems. Students will be able to solve their problems how ever they know how and then be asked to explain how they got their answer to me, as well as the other students. I encourage discussions and encourage students to ask questions.

Week 1: Geometry
Class 1: 2D Shapes- Names and attributes of different polygons.
Class 2: 3D Shapes- Names and properties of 3D shapes.
Week 2: Numbers and Operations
Class 3: Using a place value chart, value of digits, using math vocabulary: ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. Addition in to the thousands place with and without regrouping.
Class 4:Using a place value chart, value of digits, using math vocabulary: ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. Subtraction in to the thousands place with and without borrowing.
Week 3: Measurement and Data
Class 5: We will practice telling time to nearest minute. We will practice identifying and counting coins.
Class 6: We will use rulers to measure to the nearest cm. We will answer questions about different graphs.
Week 4: Operations and Algebraic Thinking
Class 7: Arrays: repeated addition, division, multiplication equations.
Class 8: Even/odd and word problems.
Week 5: Geometry, Measurement, and Data Review
Class 9: 2D and 3D shapes review
Class 10: Measurement and data review
Week 6: Numbers and Operations/ Algebraic thinking Review
Class 11: Numbers and operations review
Class 12: Algebraic thinking review

Supply List
Students will need a paper and pencil or white board and marker for each class. Students will also need a ruler during the measurement lessons.
