2Nd Grade Math FULL Curriculum Ongoing - (The FUN Kind)

In this ongoing course, the 2nd grade math curriculum based on the Kentucky Academic Standards will be covered.

My classes are 100% HANDS-ON. We learn HOW the numbers work. I never teach children to memorize steps for the sake of "this is just the way its done." Students in my class are taught to understand the WHY of how we compute numbers by using hands-on manipulatives in an online setting.

We have a lot of fun in class and life is never boring :). I promise that your child will ENJOY his or her experiences in my classroom and learn to love math. I have NEVER taught a child that didn't show incredible growth and confidence in their math abilities and plan to continue that for as long as I am able.

We joke around a lot, we play competitive games, sing, dance, and most of all, we learn and gain a very deep understanding of math concepts that are essential to learning the "hard stuff" down the road.


A breakdown of some of the topics included in our sessions is as follows:

Weeks March 18-April 1st:
Place Value

Weeks April 1st-15th: 
Addition/Subtraction 

April 15th-29th: 
Geometry

April 29th-May 6th:
Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication


Although we will focus on the above-named topics, every week will include review of topics already covered. Our classes will always begin with a comprehensive review assignment so that students keep building upon past skills and don't regress.
