As the newly published author of the "Emotebook" and a freelance writer for over 20 years, I have relied on language arts skills as the building blocks of a happy career. For three of those years, I also worked full-time as an associate editor, which helped me gain real-world expertise in the nuances of English language arts. I am walking the language arts journey with my three children while homeschooling them. I am also bridging the gap between cultures by teaching English as a second language to hundreds of students online. I look forward to this language arts adventure with you!
Depending on parent preference, students can be assigned homework in the form of worksheets to reinforce concepts learned in class. If this is the primary language arts class, the homework can be used as the basis of independent study on the days that we do not have class. Please send me a note to indicate your preference.
Please keep a pencil and notebook, or other paper, available for in-class writing exercises. Please also print and bring the worksheets that the teacher occasionally sends for in-class work.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed in class in order to adjust learning material to their level of understanding.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will occasionally be sent worksheets for our in-class exercises. Please print these worksheets and have them available to help the student engage in the lesson and learn the material. Thank you!
