Second graders will continue to improve and enhance their reading skills, practice addition and subtraction, as well as being instruct to word problems. Students will improve their problem-solving skills while also becoming more proficient in computational skills. For students to develop reading fluency while developing writing skills. Students will begin to expand their math knowledge beyond shapes and number identification. Students will be able to understand what makes a great citizen.
Ms. Berry and Ms. Flowers have a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and Elementary Education. Combine both teachers has more than 20 years to teaching experience.

Homework is assigned daily in this class but it is optional for students to complete it.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

PDF will be in the classroom Markers/crayons/color pencils Safety Scissors Hand held dry erase board (can be found at the Dollar Store or Target) Dry Erase marker Folder or Binder (binder would do better) Suggestion: It may be easier to create a daily folder for each day with the materials/worksheets already ready for your learner. You may want to also try colored coded folders for each day; example: Monday-red, Tuesday-blue, Wednesday-green and etc. I try my best each week to let you all know what we are working on each day. If you need any other tips, please let me know. I love to help all of our learners to be organized.

This means that this class will cover the following but not limited to our community, community, maps, past, present, and future. In this class students will learn how to use analytic skills and understanding citizens different point of views. (Our Social Studies curriculum is used commonly in the public schools; your learner maybe very familiar with it. We will be using Pearson: Social Studies book. We will also be using 180 Day of Second-Grade Social Studies) For Math we use NYEngaging: Eureka Curriculum
