Students will be able to read, write, and say numbers to 1,000. Students will be able to compare two three digit numbers based on their knowledge of place-value. Students will learn mental math strategies for addition and subtraction. Students will memorize addition facts within 20. Students will improve their ability to explain their thinking and the strategies they use. Students will be able to solve addition and subtraction word problems by using concrete models or drawings. Students will learn personal responsibility by coming to class prepared each day. Students will learn to raise their hand and take turns speaking. Students will learn to participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners.
When I was in school, I fell victim to math phobia and believed I was "bad" at math. Now I pride myself on meeting students where they are at and building their confidence to see they can learn any concept. I have experience in traditional 3rd and 4th grade classrooms teaching math as well as 4 years teaching online and have seen first hand the difference in student achievement when they build confidence in themselves. This creates a life long love of learning which is even more valuable than the specific skills they will learn in my classroom. Our team of teachers have several years of online educational experience in various grade levels and subjects. We are excited to share our love of learning with your children!

Students will be assessed informally on an ongoing basis. At the end of each chapter, a formal test will be given to monitor student progress. A formal letter grade can be provided upon request at the beginning of the course.Grades Offered
Most materials will be included in the price of the course. Students will additionally need to print out tests at the end of each chapter to be completed in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
