US Grade 2
This will be a semester-long full curriculum 2nd-grade class that includes English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This class will utilize Nearpod in every class. Nearpod is an excellent resource that will allow for lessons with interactive slides, videos, games, and more. For ELA and Math, I teach using the I do, we do, you do method. I will teach the mini-lesson, show examples, and allow students to practice individually. We will also utilize the whiteboard. Activities/worksheets will also be assigned as practice between classes. For science, there will be mini-lessons, occasional hands-on activities, and science journals. Social Studies will have a combination of interactive lessons, worksheets, and hands-on activities. Homework is optional but is highly recommended. Students will have access to Zearn and Lalilo for math and reading assignments/practice (these are included in your enrollment cost). Once you enroll your child, a login will be created for them in both programs and sent to you via Outschool messaging. A mid-semester progress report will be issued in addition to an end-of-semester report card depending on assignments turned in. I will also issue the learners a fun certificate of completion! ——Class Breakdown—— Mon/Wed - ELA/Math 1. “Morning” work (5 min) 2. Math mini-lesson/I work examples (10 min) 3.
