Students will practice skills on a 1st-3rd grade level depending on ability and skills level. I will assess the student and discuss with the parent specific skills they would like to be worked on. Skills may range from decoding and blending words to fluently reading passages to answering comprehension questions. Fleuncy passages, comprehension questions, and decoding/reading skills will be addressed through videos, timed practice reading pages, comprehension questions and more.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in special education. I have been teaching in a brick and mortar environment for 11 years and continue to teach full time while also teaching online clases. I have experience working with students in a wide range of ages from preschool to 3rd grade. I enjoy and have experience differentiating instruction and specifically applying my instruction to the needs of each individual learner. I am excited about working with students individually and in an environment I am able to structure lessons and specific skills for each learner.
Depending on the skills being adressed, learners will be assessed through individual timed readings, answering comprehension questions from passages correctly, blending words independently through hands on activities, worksheets and videos.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
