Description

Class Experience

In this 4 week class students will learn step by step how to add and subtract with regrouping with Hand-On Montessori materials such as Golden Beads and the Stamp Game. Students will use these materials to strengthen their understanding of place value that will give them the foundation to easily transition into regrouping both in an abstract and concrete way as well as an in depth lesson on regrouping with zeros. Students will then put their new found knowledge and understanding to the test...

To give students a solid foundation of number sense and place value, encourage critical thinking, and in still a life long love go math.

Ms. Hope Owner/Curriculum Developer has a BS in Business and Finance from Golden Gate University, a BA in Elementary Education, Certified In Cognitively Guided Instruction Math and Montessori Education. All our teachers have a BA in Elementary Education, trained in Multi-Sensory Handwriting, and Cognitively Guided Instruction Math.

Student will be given extra equations to practice outside of class.

Montessori materials may be physical, printable, or DIY. Printable and DIY versions will be uploaded to the classroom 1 week before class.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
