🐶 My Classroom and Teaching Style:

My goal is to make learning as happy 🥳 and stress-free as possible! My classroom is fast-paced and interactive. It is a kind, caring, supportive, productive, silly, and just a little bit crazy kind of space! I want students to love class and enjoy showing up to learn with me. Students can only learn when they feel comfortable and safe! I provide that environment for my students, then watch as their learning soars! I will meet each student where he or she is and move them forward.

Welcome!
My name is Kimberly Baust, and I cannot wait to meet your child in the classroom. There is so much fun to be had!

My qualifications:
⭐️ I have held a teaching certificate in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia.
⭐️ B.S. in Elementary Education (K-6)
⭐️ M. Ed in Elementary Education (K-6)
⭐️ 25+ years teaching experience in the classroom
⭐️ Grades 3-6
⭐️ Drama- Grades 5-12

Having taught more than 20 years in elite private schools with an accelerated curriculum, my classes are fast paced with high expectations. Keeping the attention of even the most wiggly of students!

However, my philosophy of teaching the whole child means that I will provide explicit teaching with clear instructions combined with lots of support and practice. My goal is to ensure each child's success in my classroom.

First and foremost, my classroom will always be a safe place! Children learn best with they are comfortable and know the teacher is there to help them at all times.

Learning is supposed to be fun and engaging! So you will find my classroom to be:
 💙 KIND
🥰 CARING
🙌🏻 SUPPORTIVE
😁 HAPPY
🥸 SILLY
🤪 and a little bit CRAZY!
But- we always accomplish our goals.

Work hard- Play hard! Am I right?

I will be teaching a variety of classes in the Young Scholar Academy.

I little about me personally- I have two incredible sons- both in college. I live in Coastal Virginia with my pediatrician husband of 30 years and have two crazy doodles!

We are Philly sports fanatics, love to be on the water enjoying the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean, and are always planning our next family vacation! I am a history buff, avid reader, and Lego lover! Each morning you will find me curled up with my two dogs, a cup of coffee and the NYT games!

I can't wait to meet you inside the classroom!
